Terry Christensen

Registered Physiotherapist

Terry has more than 20 years of clinical experience. Since beginning his studies in kinesiology then completing his degree in Physiotherapy, from the University of Toronto, Terry has developed extensive clinical experience in out-patient orthopaedics, personal and performance training and lifestyle management. Terry's ongoing professional development has included numerous courses with emphasis on manual therapy, biomedical acupuncture, sports medicine, pain management and strength and conditioning.

In addition to being a physiotherapist, Terry is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists are professional who apply scientific knowledge to train athletes for the primary goal of improving athletic performance. They conduct sport-specific testing sessions, design and implement safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs and provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention. Terry has worked with athletes of all levels, includng recreational, Olympic, and professional athletes (including players from the NHL, MLB and NFL). Terry’s goal is to bridge the gap between rehab and performance, ensuring optimal recovery and resiliency to further injury.

Recently, Terry has developed an interest in clinical nutrition and nutritional biochemistry, human physiology and metabolism. He earned a Certificate in Sport and Exercise nutrition with Precision Nutrition, one of the world leaders in certifying fitness and healthcare professionals. He has also completed courses with an advanced clinical focus in: Digestion and GI health, Hormones and Endocrinology, Detoxification and Biotransformation, Mental Health and Neurology, Therapeutic Nutrition and Supplements, Conventional and Advanced Biomedical Testing. These together have given him a postgraduate certificate in Functional Nutrition.

Terry has worked in acute-care hospitals, public and private clinics and independent consulting. Terry has also been a Clinical Instructor for the University of Toronto and the University of Ottawa. He has successfully completed board certification exams in Canada and the United States and is currently registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
